Finalist in the 2024 TSNN Awards for Best Use of Technology!

We’re honored to be named a finalist in the 2024 TSNN Awards for Best Use of Technology!

As part of the Javits Center’s sustainability initiatives during the 2024 NEST Climate Campus, we developed three engaging augmented reality (AR) experiences that took users on immersive journeys through Food Scraps, Bottles & Cans Recycling, and Trash Disposal. By scanning QR codes on waste receptacles throughout the center, users were able to explore proper waste sorting, uncover key facts about sustainability efforts, and dive deeper into the environmental benefits of effective waste management.

These AR experiences were part of a larger exhibit that also featured LED screens, interactive kiosks, and infographics, offering visitors an interactive and impactful way to learn about sustainability.

To bring these experiences to life, we used cutting-edge tools like Blender, Adobe Aero, Substance 3D, and After Effects to design visually stunning 360-degree AR journeys paired with responsive sound design. By keeping the files lightweight, we ensured seamless and quick loading on any Apple or Android device—no special apps required!

This recognition is a testament to our dedication to using technology to educate, engage, and inspire. If you’d like to experience the AR journeys for yourself, scan the QR codes below and see them in action!
